Evening Prayer
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Heavenly Father, I come to you after a long day of once again trying to be closer to you and yet still feeling so distant. Lord, let me feel your presence as I intently seek you. Restore my brokenness and frazzled mind to one of peace and contentment in simply being; help me breathe.
You are the God of Wonder, the Lord of Heaven and earth; please hear my humble prayers.
My cup overflows with the bountiful blessings you have showered upon me; Giver of all that is good, I say thank you…
Where is sickness, pain and suffering; please bring healing to both the body and the soul…
For my freedom, for my privilege, for the everyday gifts I take for granted; open my heart to a life of gratitude…
For Immanuel and its missions; those who serve and are being served; we ask for Your blessing…
Our country is torn, and our world is in turmoil; sometimes it scares me; I lift up these fears to you…
I am often frustrated because things aren’t going as I feel they should be, will I have enough; help me to trust in you…
It’s so easy to get caught up in the negative ways around me only to find myself heavy laden with guilt; show me thy way Lord, please show me thy way…
Is this where you’ve called me to be in my life; I ask you, Oh Holy One for guidance and clarity as I discern your call for me…
For love, for peace, for life, for hope…
My precious Savior, I give this all to you. Amen.
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”
3:00 p.m. Prayer
Scripture: Romans 12: 2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God- what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Prayer
Almighty God, we pray to you as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…
Most Holy One, you are the maker of heaven and earth…
God; I am reminded of who you are.
You stretched out the sky and hung all the stars…
Maker; I am in awe of the magnitude of your glory.
From the delicate butterfly to the stout elephant. From the fragrant flower to the mighty oak tree. From the trickling stream to the majestic mountains. You made them all with your hands…
Creator; Your beauty is endless.
You wove us together in our mother’s womb to be unique and special in our own way. We are perfect in Your sight…
Heavenly Father; Your love for us is immeasurable.
You invite me to build my life upon You…
Ebenezer; You are the rock I wish to stand upon.
You placed a rainbow in the sky; a reminder of Your promise…
Covenant Keeper; Your faithfulness is reassuring.
Your path leads me to the safety of Your arms…
Rescuer; You save me from myself.
From the personal struggles I wrestle with daily, to the challenges that engulf our society…
Defender; You are my strength and shield.
Into a hopeless and dark world, You sent Your son Jesus…
Merciful God; how precious is your gift.
Jesus, you died for us and took our sins upon yourself…
Lamb of God; we are humbled by Your Grace.
You rose again. The tomb is empty…
“Death-Conqueror”; in You all things are possible.
Into our souls You breathed life…
Holy Spirit; You are our abiding comfort.
You promise never to leave us…even to the end of the age…Immanuel; You are with us. Amen.
Noon Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come to you in this moment seeking your peace in the midst of our busy lives. We ask that you not only slow us down, but prepare us for your mission. That we may be a sanctuary, pure and holy. In Christ we pray. Amen.
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Reflection on the scripture: Song: Sanctuary
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving,
I’ll be a living Sanctuary for You
Prayer: Holy God, what an honor to be your temple. Thank you for dwelling in me through your Spirit. Thank you for living in my church.
Thank you for choosing to be present through all of your people in the world. O Lord, it is a great honor to be your temple, but also a great responsibility. Help me to live in such a way that your presence in my life makes a real difference each day.
Help my church to be a place where people come expecting to find you. Today, I’m reminded to pray for the whole church throughout the world. May our words and deeds bear consistent and faithful witness to you, so that you might be glorified and so that people might be drawn to you through us. Amen
The Blessing: Ephesians 2:19-22
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
Morning Prayer
Good Morning Lord and welcome into my day. As I woke this morning you nudged me to come here; to dwell in your presence; to slow down and abide in you. I long for peace, even for just this moment; slow me down Lord. Awaken my mind that I may be aware of life around me, awaken my heart that I may act with love and compassion, and awaken my spirit that I may follow you filled with joy. Hear me Heavenly Father as I lift my prayers of praise to you.
For the simple things in life… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For the people in my life… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For the things that bring me great joy… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For my hopes and dreams… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For your healing touch… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For the blessings of Immanuel Church… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For the ways you’ve allowed me to serve… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
For my life and all that is in it… I give you thanks Oh Lord.
God of Grace and God of Glory; you have heard my prayers of thanksgiving; please help my heart to be transformed so that my praise for you is reflected in all I say and do. Amen.
The Blessing
May you walk through today with a grateful heart; acknowledging that all good gifts come from God and trusting that his faithfulness endures forever. Amen.
