No Judgments, Just Jesus

Pentecost Sunday – Are You Pentecostal? (Acts 2:1-21)

Though we often think of “pentecostal” as a religious movement that began in the early 1900s that is characterized by ecstatic worship, miracles, and healings, I invite you in this message to understand that we are all “pentecostal” because of our connection to the events of Pentecost which formed the Church. The strange and unique events of Pentecost reveal much concerning who we are, what we are to do, and who we are to include as people filled and empowered by God’s Spirit. One note about the message: I make reference to “Babylon” but what I really mean is “The Tower of Babel” (the story in Genesis 11 which speaks of the separation of the nations because of the loss of one unifying language).

Opening Hymn: Spirit of the Living God
Closing Doxology: Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
